Fish Tale Pet Agreement
As fellow pet owners, we understand that your cat or dog is a beloved part of your family and an important part of your holiday. However, based on past experiences with dog fights, noise, damages, and excessive dirt/hair, we have established the following guidelines that must be always followed:
1. Pet Fee: There is a charge of $75 + 13% HST per pet, regardless of the breed for cabin stays.
2. To help us keep our cabins clean and comfortable for all guests, we’re unfortunately unable to accommodate certain breeds known for heavy drooling: St. Bernards, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Bloodhounds, Newfoundlanders, Neapolitan Mastiffs, Bullmastiffs, Great Danes, and any other similar breeds. In the past, excessive drool on furniture & walls has required deep cleaning between stays, which we aren’t able to manage within our turnover time. We appreciate your understanding!
3. Pet Limits:
- Cabins: Limit of 1 pet per cabin unless otherwise arranged.
- Tenting/Trailer Sites: Limit of 2 pets per site.
- The Timber Loft is a pet-free cabin.
4. Visiting Pets: Cabins with a visiting pet will be billed the $75 charge, even if the pet was only in the gazebo. Please inform your visitors of this policy.
5. Furniture and Bedding: Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds. If excessive hair, sand, or dirt from pets is found on beds or furniture, you will be billed for extra cleaning or replacement costs. Please bring a crate or bed for your pet. The extra cleaning rate is $50 per half hour + HST.
6. Damages: You accept financial responsibility for any damage caused by your pet on our property, including but not limited to:
- Accidents on furniture, mattresses, carpets/rugs.
- Pulled threads on quilts/comforters. o Excessive dirt on sheets and couches. o Saliva on furniture or walls.
- Chewed items, pushed-out screens, scratches on doors/floors.
- Litter/excrement on floors.
7. Rugs: If we know in advance that a pet will be in the cabin, all rugs will be rolled up and removed to minimize potential damage.
8. Excessive Barking: If your pet is continuously and excessively barking, you will be asked to bring them home.
9. Aggressive Dogs: We reserve the right to exclude any aggressive dogs from our property at any time.
10. Pet Incidents: If your pet attacks, bites, or jumps on another pet or person, you will be asked to immediately remove the pet from our property, and no refund will be issued for your site or cabin if you aren’t able to return.
11. Leash Requirement: Pets must always be on a leash no longer than 2 meters (6 feet) when outdoors and should never be left unattended. Pets cannot be left alone during day trips or while fishing/swimming; someone must always stay with them.
12. Electric fences are not permitted. They don’t stop other dogs or children from entering your site.
13. Children and Pets: Children walking dogs must always be accompanied by an adult. No exceptions.
14. Pet Waste: Please scoop your pet’s poop and dispose of it in your household waste or the designated blue POOP bin near the garbage area.
15. Restricted Areas: Pets are not permitted in the enclosed swimming pool area, public washrooms, or the office (as this is our pets’ home).
16. Boat Rentals: Pets are not permitted on pontoon rentals but are welcome in aluminum boats, canoes, and kayaks.
17. Loose Pets: We understand that pets can occasionally get away from you, but if it happens repeatedly, your pet will need to be brought home.
18. Tie-Downs: Ground tie-downs are not permitted as they pose a tripping hazard.
19. Pest Control
For the safety of all guests and their pets, please note that ant traps and mouse traps may be placed inside cabins as part of our pest management program. Fish Tale Cabins is not responsible for pets who may encounter or ingest these traps. Guests are responsible for always supervising their pets and ensuring they do not disturb or tamper with pest control products. Any veterinary costs resulting from such contact are the sole responsibility of the pet owner.
20. Final Inspection: To avoid any surprise charges, you may request a walk-through before leaving the campground on departure day.
By bringing your pet to our property, you agree to adhere to these guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.
You will be asked to sign this agreement upon arrival.
